Posted On 8 October, 2020

The Better Blackstone Design Challenge is a collaborative urban design project aimed at increasing interest and investment along Blackstone Avenue – “The Spine of Fresno."

Fresno Metro Ministry and the Better Blackstone team will utilize this place making effort to focus on the ways that building types, scales, character and collaboration between businesses, property owners and neighborhood residents can work with multi-modal transportation systems and streetscapes, mixed-use transit-oriented development with affordable housing, employment, shopping, services, open space and more to attract investment that makes central Fresno a desirable place, a key destination, and major activity center for all of Fresno. This project builds on the smart mobility projects conducted in partnership with the City of Fresno, Caltrans and the Fresno Council of Governments focused on improving safe walking, biking, bus and motor vehicle interaction.
