California’s Response to support working families

Posted On 20 March, 2020

WHO: Faith in the Valley is part of Housing Now!, a broad coalition of 140+ organizations across California working to ensure all residents have access to safe, decent and affordable housing.

WHAT: There is a Housing Now petition online, on Facebook and on Twitter urging Governor Newsom to enact protective measures that will help keep all families in their homes and utilities turned on during the COVID-19 outbreak. Governor Newsom received this letter on 3/20/2020.

WHY: Loving, compassionate humans care deeply about the health, safety, and wellbeing of all people. Local urgency ordinances fall drastically short of protecting our most vulnerable residents. In just 10 days (April 1st) countless families are going to lose their homes because they’ve taken some kind of a financial hit from COVID-19 and can’t make rent.
