The California Department of Education (CDE) released information for the
2018 Student Support and Academic Enrichment Competitive Grant Program.

The California Department of Education (CDE) released information for the
2018 Student Support and Academic Enrichment Competitive Grant Program<

These are grants made available through $44 million in one-time Title IV
funding.

Things to know:

* CDE is providing a technical assistance webinar TOMORROW, August 28,
3:30-4:30 pm. (Can’t make the webinar? We will be on and will pass along
the info!)
* Applicants must be a Local Education Agency (school district or
county office of education) that received a grant under Title I, Part A<
schoolhealthcenters.us16.list-manage.com/track/click?u=da1395f1ad1e32ddbd18506b1&id=43c0018e6c&e=46a8271765>
in the 2017–18 fiscal year. LEAs may partner with community-based
organizations to implement activities supported by these grants.
* In order to apply for a grant, LEAs must first submit a very simple
application of “intent” by September 12 at 5 p.m. The deadline for
submitting a formal application is October 17, 2018 at 5 pm.
* Grant awards will be announced on November 13, 2018 and funding must
be spent between January 1, 2019 and September 30, 2019.
* There are two priority areas for grants: (1) enhanced visual and
performing arts education, and/or (2) expanded access to physical and
mental health care through school health centers. However grants are not
limited to these two priority areas.
* Approximately $4 million in grants, based upon merit, will be issued
to each of the eleven California County Superintendents Educational Service
Association (CCSESA) service regions<

Applications must be for $500,000 or more.
