Volunteer Director for iCAN TRI Triathlon & 5K Event (Summer 2018)

iCAN TRI is seeking a Volunteer Director intern for this year’s summer
event. Please see the attached job description.

*i**CAN TRI Triathlon & 5k Event*

The 7TH annual iCAN TRI Triathlon event will be held at Clovis North
Educational Center on Sunday July, 22nd, 2018. Approximately 40 to 50
volunteers are needed for this event. This is a sanctioned, USA Triathlon
event and will host the USA Triathlon High School Championship.

*Title: * Volunteer Director

*Status: *Volunteer or Internship

*Reports to: *Race Director

*Hours: *Very flexible, 3– 7 hours/week

*QUALIFICATIONS*

Applicants should have a passion for the mission and vision of iCAN Junior
Triathlon Club and the iCAN TRI Triathlon. Applicant should possess strong
interpersonal and organizational skills, and understand the volunteer needs
of the event.

– Good oral and written communications skills

– Working knowledge of popular social media platforms and the internet

– Outgoing, friendly, energetic, with an eagerness to serve the public
interest

*RESPONSIBILITIES *

The Volunteer Director will be responsible for recruiting and organizing
previous and new volunteers to facilitate the volunteer needs of the event.
This person will work directly with the Race Director and race staff in
compliance with the organizations volunteer plan.

· Participate in scheduled Race Committee meetings

· Recruit volunteers to facilitate the needs of the event

· Recruit volunteers from local community organizations, high schools
and prior race volunteer database

· Organize volunteers for specific race event designation and
committee director’s needs

· Organize and set-up the volunteer assembly area, complete with all
the materials, supplies, and refreshments for race day

· Conduct volunteer briefing

· Oversee the cleanup of the volunteer assembly area after the event

· Attend a Race Committee debriefing meeting
